Our engagement shoot rocked.

Our engagement shoot with Matt Miller was yesterday, and let me tell you, it was awesome. 48 different kinds of awesome.

The morning started off with much flustering around and lots of me walking around in circles. I eventually sat down, made a ridonk playlist and continued folding our 20348 paper cranes.

The amazing Luke Salter came over to the apartment at 2pm to style our hairs. I really wish Luke could come over every day and do my hairs.

At 4pm we went to go meet Matt, and of course I got lost, and then un-lost.

For the next 3.5 hours…

  • We tromped through a brush patch, complete with me pushing JP over into a barrel roll. (I was following directions, swear to God).
  • We laid in a tiny median under an overpass beneath the “Pray for Atl” graffiti on Moreland Ave. I successfully flashed half of Atlanta.
  • We were shot covered by the 420483 paper cranes that I folded. At one point it was raining tiny cranes.
  • We played in stairways, boxes, and doorways at the the High Museum. It was very Alice in Wonderland at some points. I truly was the fifty-foot bride in my 4-inch heels.
  • We confused the customers at Cypress St. Pint & Plate by kissing in front of the fire pit.
  • JP scaled the iron doors at our apartment building while I looked shocked.

I took along the DSLR, but was too hyper puppy to even take it out of the car.

We had a total blast. I’m sure I was embarrassing spaz for most (if not all) of the time. Hopefully it’ll come across as awesome rather than super weird or unattractive.

Can’t wait to see the photos. We should be seeing them in about 3 weeks.

So JP won’t be nekkid…

PSo here’s a possibility of what JP will wear for our engagement shoot. I love when he wears it. He just looks extra-awesome. I also think he feels confident and comfortable in it, which of course is important for engagement-shoot land.

Is this too similar to the outfit option I have picked out for myself? Would this look like we were trying to be matchy-matchy twin-land? That would be… terrible.

Blazer: Moleskin Blazer, Gap, $98.00

Shirt: New Solid Oxford, Gap, $44.50

Jeans: Authentic Fit Jeans (resin rinse), Gap, $54.50

Shoes: Chuck Taylor All-Stars, Piperlime, $42.00

So I won’t be nekkid for the engagement shoot…

outfitHere’s my first option for an engagement shoot outfit. I love it because it makes me feel like I’m about to go horseback riding. And pretty authoritative. For our shoot, I don’t want to feel like a sissy prissy, so, well, I think this is a pretty awesome option. Plus it looks pretty freakin’ hot.

Is it strange that I really want to tromp around and not be super romantically-dressed for our engagement shoot? Has anybody else gone an alternative route as well?

Note: The blazer I would be wearing wouldn’t be the one pictured. It’s just the closest to what I have. Also imagine that the white shirt shown with the blazer isn’t there.
