Our engagement shoot rocked.

Our engagement shoot with Matt Miller was yesterday, and let me tell you, it was awesome. 48 different kinds of awesome.

The morning started off with much flustering around and lots of me walking around in circles. I eventually sat down, made a ridonk playlist and continued folding our 20348 paper cranes.

The amazing Luke Salter came over to the apartment at 2pm to style our hairs. I really wish Luke could come over every day and do my hairs.

At 4pm we went to go meet Matt, and of course I got lost, and then un-lost.

For the next 3.5 hours…

  • We tromped through a brush patch, complete with me pushing JP over into a barrel roll. (I was following directions, swear to God).
  • We laid in a tiny median under an overpass beneath the “Pray for Atl” graffiti on Moreland Ave. I successfully flashed half of Atlanta.
  • We were shot covered by the 420483 paper cranes that I folded. At one point it was raining tiny cranes.
  • We played in stairways, boxes, and doorways at the the High Museum. It was very Alice in Wonderland at some points. I truly was the fifty-foot bride in my 4-inch heels.
  • We confused the customers at Cypress St. Pint & Plate by kissing in front of the fire pit.
  • JP scaled the iron doors at our apartment building while I looked shocked.

I took along the DSLR, but was too hyper puppy to even take it out of the car.

We had a total blast. I’m sure I was embarrassing spaz for most (if not all) of the time. Hopefully it’ll come across as awesome rather than super weird or unattractive.

Can’t wait to see the photos. We should be seeing them in about 3 weeks.

60 bags of cough drops, please.

Last weekend, I went on a really fun, and really freaking random adventure. Kristen [my matron of honor, and I'm her maid of honor] called me and asked me if I wanted to go on an adventure. I was exhausted, but when she told me that it was to buy 60 bags of cough drops, I was totally on board.

Her fiance is in bootcamp at Parris Island right now, and in his letter he wrote that he was sick and needed cough drops. However, he’d need enough for all 59 of his platoon (?) mates. Rather than trying to guess what that meant number-wise, Kristen just decided that she’d send 60 bags. She’s totally awesome.

I took my camera along to document the mission. We went to Walmart first.

Some dude was blocking all the cough drops, so Kristen decided to attack some Children’s Motrin. We’re classy ladies.

So many choices!

Unfortunately, we thought that they were more expensive than they should be. Fail, Walmart, fail. Off to Kroger we go!resizeIMG_1040

Pitstop at the Vitamin Water tent in Kroger. So random.

Kristen was on a mission. I kept telling her to slow down. You can clearly see the hand gesture that went along with “Lauren, I’m not going to stop! Hurry the hell up.” I may have made that part up, but it was something along those lines. lolresizeIMG_1044

Kroger had “LOW LOW PRICES,” but also a “CRAPPY CRAPPY SELECTION.” We cleaned them out.resizeIMG_1047

I snuck some shots of her beautiful ring while she was loading up the movey-doo-dad at the checkout. I’m a ninja like that. Kroger only had 27 bags, so we had to go to Publix for the rest. Sadly, my camera battery le died and I didn’t get to document that leg of the trip. It was entertaining being looked at like crazy people. I mean, c’mon, a 6’3″ spazzy amazon with a camera following [read: chasing] a 5’2″ sassy lady buying out all of the city’s cough drops is a pretty entertaining sight.

Awesome. Can’t wait for our next MOH-MOH adventure.
