Dancing Cat Action

In case you have a case of the… Thursdays… watch this video. I think it’s virtually impossible not to smile starting at around 2:00, though I suggest watching the whole thing. Fun stuff. Never fails to make me laugh.

I love type.

It’s true.

I should be embarrassed to admit this.

I sort of want this camera. Sort of. It’s a crappy camera for the most part, but, ugh, I am turning into a six-year-old over it. Also, real cat face in the packaging? Stop it.

*Note: As I was about to hit “Publish” on this post, JP asked, “Are you going to get that camera? You know, as your backup body?” Oh ha, ha ha, my dear husband.

Indulge me.

I have a bit of a problem. I have a fairly substantial set of artists that I admire, draw inspiration, and just generally go ga-ga over. That isn’t the problem. My problem lies in the fact that I tend to blabber to anyone that will listen, usually poor Colleen, about said artists.

I’ve decided to take this pent-up art-love energy and spread it a little around here. Maybe it will provide a little insight into why I do what I do, maybe it will introduce some to some new artists, maybe it will bore you to tears. Whatever, indulge me, dears.

First up? Sally Mann.

smithsonian magazine, tv guide ]

I first heard of Mann during one of our “let’s watch a documentary” days during a photography class one semester. I’m the sort that takes furious notes during these docus, but this one left me mouth-agape and with only “Sally Mann” scrawled into my Moleskine. That’s big.

I immediately fell in love with her and her work– her photographs are intimate, eerie, and hauntingly beautiful. She uses mainly her family as subjects, which of course resonated with me after using JP as my main subject for so long. Anyway, less talk, more rock. (I need to stop myself while I still can).

CREATURE FEATURE

The lovely Kat of Rock ‘n Roll Bride did a feature on us today! Go visit! Right now! 85 never-before-seen pix! (Click on the thumbnails to see them large-and-in-charge!)

I’m all fluttery in love with them all. Thanks, Kat! (And Mr. Miller!)

Quality assurance

A certain black kitty has decided that nesting on her minion’s price sheets would be the best idea ever.

When said minion tried to retrieve said price sheets, kitty decided that biting was the best recourse. Go figure.

I have no words.

And so it begins. This, my dears, is the last teaser-not-full-wedding-recaps post before recaps begin. Why? Well, this afternoon our amazing photog, Matt Miller of Our Labor of Love sent over some pictures. And boy, are we ever happy with the results! Understatement of the century.

So, please enjoy these snippets of us getting ready, playing photoshoot, and having a blast at the reception.

L-O-V-E. Go over, see the full set, and give Matt some love.

Cannot wait to share E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

Have a favorite shot out of this bunch? Share! (Then maybe I’ll let you know what my favorite one is!)

Let me do it!
