Due to the fact that our wedding music video went viral-ish, we’ve received a bunch of press. While the overwhelming response has been mostly positive, there was also a shocking amount of crazy-hurtful things said about my appearance, making assumptions about the kind of people we were, saying we were trying to be different and hipster/alternative just for the sake of being different. You know what? We did the things we did because we LOVED doing them. It wasn’t to cause a stir, it wasn’t to be all over the internet, and it certainly was not just to be OMGTHECOOLESTTHINGEVER.
I posted snippets of some of the hateful things said about us, and mainly me, because let’s face it– I’m insanely insecure about my appearance, so these were some of the things that hurt the most. I still am in shock over the hateful, hurtful, and ridiculous things said by people that have no idea who we are. Lesson? Be mindful of what you say, whether it be in real life, on Twitter, on Facebook, on some big blog, on forums, etc. There are always real people with real feelings behind these things, and nine times out of ten? They’ll see, hear about it, read it, what-have-you.
I cannot begin to express my thanks for the outpouring of support that this post generated. I really do thank you all so much, and it has helped immensely.
If you’d like to take a look at some of the icky-ness that is bred by the anonymity of the internet, or the hatefulness of some people, continue reading for the original post after the jump. I will stop yammering now. (Or at least yammering about this b.s.)

If you haven’t ever made french toast with challah, do it. Now.
