Lauren, my veil was a long, simple, tulle veil with a blusher…all attached to a round, open pill-box Alencon lace cap with clear combs along the inside. Very simple, yet elegant. You could do this with fabric that matches your dress, too. It’s a very small cap that sits on the crown of your head with all that luscious tulle flowing down. Whatever you decide, I’m sure it will be beautiful.

I’m glad that DIYing the veil is not such a crazy idea. After I wrote this post, my matron of honor told me that she’s DIYing her veil too!

Love the idea of making your own veil. I made one for Halloween and it was super easy so I’m thinking it can’t be too much more difficult to make a nicer one for a real wedding! Great call!

I totally want to make my veil, although I’ll probably have something a little shorter.
