Time is running away.

It seems like before the t minus 1 year mark, we had forever to worry about the wedding, and it was going to be a breeze. Time ticked by slowly, I collected ideas. I knew what I wanted. I was on top of things.

Now, we’re just under 11 months until the wedding, and the time is flying. Flying. All of these wedding books also need to throw in a clause warning against June weddings. Well, not really against June weddings, but, if you’re going to have a June wedding, you better damn well start booking important vendors before the 1 year mark. Even then might be too late.

Yesterday was Major Wedding Crisis 1. I decided to number it, because, let’s be honest, I don’t have the best luck. If I don’t pretend like there will be more, then there will be a whole helluvalot more. Yes, helluvalot is a word today.

Anyway, yesterday, the photographer that we’d essentially decided on got booked out from under us. We had a meeting scheduled for this Sunday, but I didn’t know that she had other inquiries for our wedding date. She was very sweet though, and called some other photographers for me and gave recommendations. We then found what I think is the holy grail of photographers, and we have a meeting with him on Saturday. He promised not to book out our date before we met, either.:)

So, lesson learned. Find out what vendors are the most important to you, and then, especially if it is a JUNE wedding, book that shit ASAP.

True that! We wanted to get married in June 2008, but every single place was booked up (and we were looking in August of 2007). The only date left at any place decent was October 4th, 2008, so we jumped at it!

theknot.com is evil in my book, they constantly send me blow in the gut messages like “6 months to the wedding!”. Um whut. I thought I had another year. Where did that time go?

we’re using matt miller. he works with olol, and the smilebooth is a part of our package. :) he’s really awesome and kickass.

are you serious?! that’s so awesome. he’s really awesome in person, i’m sure you’ll love him. we just scheduled our engagement shoot with him for nov. 8. i am le excited. when are you guys getting married?
