March 4, 1996

Dear kiitty,

Today is March 4, 1996. I am about finished with my K-Nex Roller-coasterkit. It is very neat. Moma is at a meeting. Daddy is staying with me. Tommorrow I’m going on a orchesstra trip to large Group Festival. Middlle schoool, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades are going. I am part of the Middle school orchestra because I am really good. (Thats not conceited, it’s true). I am only in 5th grade. We get to miss school! Yeeaaahhh!!! No Mrs. Masters*, no Mrs. Cars*. Double Yeah!!! Mrs. Cars* is pretty nice, but Mrs. Masters* is a smart-elick. (Did I spell that right?! Well, I don’t care, this isn’t school, Yeah!!) Net week on Wed., thurs., + Fri. we are going to be in Orlando! More schooll missing! Then the 25th-29th of March there is the school trip which I can’t go on, is going to happen. Good riddance! More missing school! Yeaaahhh!! Then a week after that is Spring Break! My feelings are kind of hurt because nobody invited me to the beach. Jane* asked Amanda* and she doesn’t even like her! Christy* likes Sam! (Not, that was just a rumor, or maybe……) Oh, well. I wish I had a boy friend. (Preferably Mark Smith). He is so cute and sweet to me. Everybody else hates him. That is very hard to imagine. Right now I am listneing to *94 on the radio in my room. (It is really a CD player but it has a radio and tape player on it, so I guess it is called a boombox.) Thomas Michael’s 1st birthday is the day after Easter this year. Saterday I went on a shopping spree at the Gap and we bought my new spring wardrobe. Everything costed $200-$300 all together! I am wearing one of my new outfits now. It is the color coral. It is pretty.

Lauren

Mommy and Daddy looked at some houses and codos. We might buy one! Mommy and I might go back to Destin with Mary Sue*, Mrs. Anderson*, and unfortunate but true, Jo*. Needless to say, Jo* is a 6-year-old terror!!

In 1 month, 2 weeks, and two days I will be in 5th grade- Middle School!! We get lockers! (I am sorry my writing is messy, but I am writing in bed) I may get a lock for my locker.

I have to go to bed! Bye!

Dear Kitty,

I am so sorry that I haven’t been writing. I’ve just been so busy with Christmas. I’ve gotten gifts for people too! I got Mommy 2 candle holders with charobs on them. I got Daddy a putter and a golf hat. There is only 14 more days ’till Christmas! We get out of school next Friday! This is Winnie’s first Christmas with us! (It is her second christmas, but it is her first with us). I just got a new book called “A Newberry Christmas”. It is a book of short-stories. It is 184 pages long. It has 14 stories in it. The stories [ed. note: the following three words were carrot-arrowed to the side] I have read are = Babouska, The Hundred Dresses, A Letter From Santa Claus; Eliot Miles Does Not Wish You A Merry Christmas Because…, & Ramona, The Sheep Suit, And The Three Wise Persons. Merry Christmas!

Dear Kitty,

I’m so sorry because I’ve neglected you. I’ve been so busy. It is the day before Thanksgiving. I am so ecxited! Becky, Mike, and Nanny are coming at 6:15 pm. Joe is coming tommorrow. Joe has a girlfriend named Angela. I heard him talking on the phone to her when he kept me. I wonder if she is nice? I wonder if she likes kids? Well, enough about her, let’s talk about something else. Mommy has already brought me a preasent. I forgot what we are eating tommorrow.

Love,

Lauren

P.S. I forgot to tell you. Becky is pregnent and it is a boy! (I knew a week ago!)

Love,

Lauren

Dear Kitty,

My mommy left for Greenville yesterday. Daddy picked me up from school. Mrs. Johnston, (my baby-sitter), was waiting for me. Daddy had to go to a meeting. I had to feed the dogs, yuck!! Their food is the most smelly of all foods. Today Mrs. Johnston came again because daddy had to go to another meeting. She got here at 7:30 am. Wow. I couldn’t get up until 8:55 am. I can’t believe anyone could get up that early on a Saturday! Mommy is coming home today! She only left yesterday, but I still miss her. I have never been away from her this long! (I know that sounds corney, but it’s true!) She is coming home tonight. Mrs. Johnston said that when she was three her mother died. Her sister was fifteen minutes old! That is so sad. Here are a few things on my Christmas list. (I hope you don’t think I’m greedy). Here is the list of some of the things for my Christmas list: a violin case, a violin, a bow, 2XL, & some vidios and vidio games. See you soon!

Love,

Lauren

P.S. Daddy is coming home soon for lunch.

Dear Kitty,

Today ¬†I woke up feeling down. The night before mommy said that I couldn’t have my $15.00 for the book fair. Well, after I asked her this morning and she gave me the money. That is how I got you. Mommy is trying to make reservations for a meeting. Daddy is making fettuchini alfredo. We are going to have fun together!

Love,

Lauren
